HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!
We have had one of the best New Year Eve's I have ever had... We had a blast...My brother, husband, myself and Gavin "my awesome little nephew" brought in the New Year 2008 with a bang....Gavin made cool posters, and we hung one on the Christmas Tree, one beside the T.V. that showed the ball falling and a clock for the countdown!! He is so clever. He gave poster board to all of us with 10 goals we each had to fill out....This is what his read:
1. Have Fun.
2. See the ball drop down!
3. Have 2 touchdowns.
4. Make new friends.
5. PLAY.
6. Geta lot of money.
7. Go to Hawaii.
8. Have fun with dog, dad and mom.
9. Look at cool stuff.
10.Give mom a Big Hug.....
Gavin almost went to sleep before midnight. We had to try hard to keep him awake. So we cut up confetti, maybe more than 1,000 pieces to throw. We let Shadow, our German Sheppard inside, along with Chico our little dog. They also helped bring on the show.....Counting down last 10 seconds throwing confetti all over the living room, covering dogs and everything was so much fun for Gavin. Then my husband Joey got out his old fire engine and sounded it off...Man it was loud...I did see a falling star just before midnight, and made a New Year's Wish. That was so cool!! It was sooooo cold outside we did not stay long, but long enough to wake the neighbors..
We ate black-eyed peas and cabbage. Gavin ate 2 bowls of peas for luck...then he crashed and went sound to sleep. He was up before anyone on the 1st making another poster which read, "Januairy 2008." He is a little doll. I am so glad he brought in the New Year with us.. Glad my brother Shannon was here too! We usually have always been together on New Year's. We use to ring an old black bell at our Grandmothers to wake the neighbors at midnight. Can't leave our Grandma out, because she rang that bell too!!!!!!! She always loved doing it and she had as much fun as we did.....
